I started this quilt in 1986 when my husband had open-heart surgery. He spent a lot of time in the hospital and to pass the time at his bedside and control my fears, I’d take one square at a time to embroidery.

I wanted to add some dimension and color to the blocks, and when I saw Chenille By The Inch demonstrated on television I knew that was just what the quilt needed. The Chenille By The Inch frames the hand-embroidery nicely and makes the design pop.

Although they originally only gave my husband two weeks to live, he lived until Feb. 2006. We would have been married 43 years on Sept. 21, 2006. I had the finished top quilted in November 2006. This quilt is a symbol of love and patience.

My granddaughter is 2 1/2 and just loves "pink" and pretty dresses. She cannot wait to wear this to church on Easter. The pattern is from Simplicity. The fabric is from my favorite quilt store and if you are old enough you will recognize it from the 70's. I know I will find a lot of uses for the techniques you discribe in your books.

This is a quilt I made for my grandson to match the color scheme in his room. I changed the flowers in “Warm Fuzzies For Baby” to stars to make it for a boy and changed things around just a little. Had “he” been a “she”, the flowers would have stayed.

Rose Marie Utrosa of Elgin, IL made these for her granddaughters Jaiden Elizabeth (age 5) and Caroline Marie (age 1). Rose Marie's needlework is superb! She has also made a variation on our popular "Show Your Colors" flag by using Patriotic (what else?) Sprinkles chenille.

This quilt is for my newest granddaughter, Payton. It started out to be much smaller than it is but as usual when making a project without a pattern you run into a few bumps along the way. She already seems to like all the bright colors and texture and I am sure she will love it for many years to come. Thank you for your fun and quality product, Barbara Gillespie of Rolling Meadows, Il

Wow! Barbara has merged several of our patterns into a "jungle" of a collage!
See below for the label she put on this quilt.

Brianna, age 10, used Chenille By The Inch to make this quilt. It's the fifth quilt that she's completed. She designed it herself! It now hangs in her Aunt's quilt shop, Log Cabin Quilters in Wantage, NJ. On weekends, Brianna enjoys spending time at the shop encouraging timid quilters to try Chenille By The Inch. She says, "If I can do it, so can you!"

73 year young Alys McLemore of Sibley, LA loves to do designer crafts. She changed up the Eclectic (or is it electric?) Chickens pattern to include a zipper front. Roll your mouse over the image for back view.
Alys says "It turned out very well...and now all my friends want a jacket!"

Wow! This is really an Electric Chicken! Alys (above) says, "I call it Electric because I put a lot of glitz on it and it lights up. I used more chenille than the pattern called for on this. I used the coconut on the large chicken wings, it worked well."

Wow! Tanya, what a great job of stretching the size of the quilt, and your colors are wonderful!

Tanya says, “I originally planned on making the quilt for my second daughter's toddler bed, but she went directly from her crib to a double bed, so I decided to make it large enough for her bed. It was definitely a labor of love (and took a lot longer than I planned), but it's something she will have forever. I am very proud
of this quilt and I absolutely love it!” Tanya R. Carlyle, Saskatchewan

Our first ever posting comes from Peg Rorabaugh who used the Baby Sew-fari quilt pattern from the Baby Sew-fari book. Peg personalized the quilt by adding the hippo from her daughter’s art work. The Rorabaugh family makes their home in Tanzania, E Africa where they are missionaries.
