3 of 5 Cutting instructions could be better May 14, 2025
Reviewer: Nana1 from Summerfield NC
I am still in the process of making this quilt top, but am disappointed with the cutting instructions and have opted to make some modifications.  First, it calls for 60 half square triangles, 30 using one print and a second fabric, and 30 using another print and the same second fabric.  The instructions have you cut the common fabric separately for the two sets of HST's, resulting in wasted fabric.  If you cut them all at once, you save a whole strip.  Further along in the pattern, instead of having you cut pieces to size, it has you cut one long strip, sew it on, and trim with the edges of the block.  Again, wasted fabric, and not the best way to end up with an accurate block.  That said, I do like the pattern and would have given it a higher rating if it weren't for the above, but I'm not sure I would purchase another.
